    • Microsoft Aims for Emerging Market
It is no secret that the initial devices running Windows Mobile 7 will be a tad on the pricey side, but it appears Microsoft has a plan for that, if not an app for that. After the initial launch, Microsoft has let slip that they intend to take their newest OS on the road to emerging [...]

I have a few annoying issues with my Samsung F480T.

Firstly, unlike my old Samsung Z510, the handsfree bluetooth connection does not occur automatically but requires me to acknowledge the “connect to handsfree?” request everytime I start my car.

Secondly, I can’t find a way to lock the settings on the widget screen. I can drag the items I want displayed but they are easily inadvertently moved while the phone is in my pocket. I would like to be able to lock the items in the preferred positions.

Any suggestions for fixes for either of these?

      With the bluetooth…

Have you paired the device in the blue tooth settings & enabled them to work without setting a passcode/check each time? I would imagine this would help, but not too sure. I don’t use a blue tooth device myself as I am a sms-a-holic rather than a chatter. If this doesn’t work, let me know & I might borrow a blue tooth headset and have a play around. What handsfree device are you using?

With the lock.. there’s no way to ‘lock’ just the widgets in place unfortunately. While I also think it would be a cool feature, they were designed to be moved around. Alternatively, you can ‘lock’ the screen. Do this by holding down the ‘call end’ key for 2 seconds. the screen will go dull. To unless either hold the button down again, or click unlock.

    Brodhe,

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Got the bluetooth working ok. Found the hands free kit hadn’t been authorised on the phone. Authorised and now the connection is automatic.

Shame about not being able to lock the screen. I can use the phone lock but it means I have to fumble with the unhold button everytime I want to check the time or calender. Wouls have been much more useful if I could have just made the widgets ‘stick’
